Having my roots in Chennai, beaches have always fascinated me at various levels. The beaches in Chennai have their unique form of expression - and has a little place in every chennaiite’s life in some special way. Beaches have been a nurturing influence in my life. Sipping some strong filter coffee, near the shores of Besant nagar beach…another simple pleasure.

Once Haven

This was shot in the beaches of Mahe. A simple township with some surreal flora, backwaters and beaches. My friend Avinan and I drove down there. The trip was a sheer delight - the speeds and the sands had a flow to them ;)

Once Haven

I wish I had used a filter for this one - or at least a smaller aperture. Would have saved the burn. The evenings in mahe are absolutely chilled-out. The soft sunlight with the sea breeze and the sound of waves - heavenly.

The backwaters of Kerala
The backwaters adjoin the beaches and it almost looks as though the backwaters adorn the beaches. A symmetry that is quite unique. The place was nothing short of heavenly. The sound from my shutter was probably one of the louder noises there.

Joy
People say Unrequited joy always lies in simple things - they maybe right, but I’ve come to realize that happiness lies within each one…but the funny part is the happiness in you is almost just enough only for others to have.
