Iowa City has a variety of cultural offerings. It has a strong literary history and is the home of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, whose graduates include John Irving, Flannery O’Connor, T.C. Boyle and many other prominent American authors; the nation’s leading Non-Fiction Writing Program; the Iowa Playwrights Workshop; the Iowa Summer Writing Festival; and the Nobel Peace Prize-nominated International Writing Program, a unique residency program that has hosted writers from more than 120 countries.

This scene really captivated me. It was a random turn into one of those alleyways between University buildings - one of those random things that I’m glad happened. It’s from the same gloomy evening - I wonder if people ever read these postings - if so good luck figuring out the stuff that interests you :).More of Iowa City

Golden tiles
The sunrise in Iowa City is an opportunity for a daily brush with nirvana. As they say not everything in life is as one wants - I happen to be a total non-morning person. I just hope a few rewarding ventures out in the morning - like the one when I shot this one below - would help create a change. Nothing as yet - will let you guys know if anything happens :)

Nature’s little chandelier
My back was on ice covered ground as I tried to get beneath these icicles formed outside my apartment. And in a hurry - I forgot to wear protective clothing. I froze my ass pretty bad - but it’s all good I guess.

Bright as a bulb in a starless space.
I welcome boredom with open arms these days - extreme boredom have resulted in some interesting outcomes in the recent past. This one below is a good example. I tried this shot with a lamp focusing on the surface of a wall. The lamp was positioned vertically and I rotated the image by 90 degrees in the clockwise direction.

In remembrance…
There was a brief period of ice storm in Iowa City. The icicles and the ice crystallized branches made the place serene. I was too lazy to shoot for the first few days after it snowed - I remember cursing myself for procrastinating. Brilliant phenomena if you ask me… the ice storms and procrastination.

An evening stroll is all one could ask for on a day like today. The gloomy surroundings brought out a lot of interesting subjects. Will be adding more subsequently.
